The second developed city of the 4 cities on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, Rolling Hills is one of the few gated cities in the entire United States. The original and continuing focus of this city was to create acommunity of one story ranch homes with every property having space guaranteed to allow construction of a stable on lots that tend to be at least 1 acre and larger;of course, now many homeowners do not have horses but appreciate the privacy that larger lots can provide. 24 hour manned guard gates on 3 sides of the city provide the ultimate in security.
